MRCF awards $250 grant to Owensville Area Community Foundation OWENSVILLE—The Owensville Area Community Foundation (OACF) recently received a $250 grant as one of the recipients of Meramec Regional Community Foundation’s (MRCF) first grant allocation. MRCF awarded $1,400 to six projects in five counties, following the group’s monthly meeting March 7 at the Meramec Regional Planning Commission. MRCF board member Doug Dunlap of Gasconade County presented the non-profit organization with the grant award. OACF plans to use the grant award for its membership drive start-up costs. The proceeds of the membership drive will help support the foundation’s goal of establishing and distributing funds in the form of grants to other charitable organizations. Persons wishing to learn more about the Owensville foundation or wanting to make a contribution can contact Lairmore at 573-437-8899 or by email at kylelairmore@hotmail.com. The MRCF grant funds aim to enhance and build stronger communities. Some 26 applications were received for its first grant offering. MRCF is an outgrowth of the Meramec Regional Planning Commission and is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, Springfield. MRCF was established in May 2010 and serves Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Osage, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington counties outside of existing CFO affiliate areas.
