Meramec Regional Community Foundation elects officers ST. JAMES—Wayne Parry of Phelps County was elected as chairman of the Meramec Regional Community Foundation (MRCF) at its June 6 meeting at the Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) in St. James. Parry previously served as vice chairman and replaces Laura Antolak who served as chairman since MRCF’s establishment in May 2010. Parry will continue to serve as the Phelps County representative, while Antolak will remain on the board as the regional at-large board member. Board members also elected Mardy Leathers of Crawford County to serve as vice chairman. Leathers previously served as secretary/treasurer. Vicki Nelson of Maries County was elected to serve as secretary/treasurer in place of Leathers. In other business, the board planned its annual meeting for 9:30 a.m. July 25 at MRPC as an opportunity to celebrate MRCF’s growth over the past two years. The public is invited to attend the meeting, which will feature a presentation from Brian Fogle, president of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO). Fogle will discuss rural philanthropy within the Ozark communities. The meeting is also an opportunity for MRCF’s donors and non-profit partners to network and learn more about MRCF, CFO and other area non-profits. All non-profit organizations, schools, businesses, local government representatives, churches and individuals are invited to attend. MRCF is an outgrowth of the Meramec Regional Planning Commission and is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, Springfield. MRCF was established in May 2010 and serves Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Osage, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington counties outside of existing CFO affiliate areas.
