The Meramec Region Transportation Advisory Committee will meet at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Meramec Regional Planning Commission, 4 Industrial Drive, St. James, MO. Please plan to attend this meeting.
AGENDA
3. Election of a Co-Chair for District 9: Chairman Decky Finn
The recently adopted bylaws provide for a co-chair from District 5 and one from District 9. The present chairman resides in District 5, therefore a co-chair from District 9 is needed. Nominations for a District 9 co-chair will be accepted from the floor.
4. Roads/Brighter Future and Safe and Sound 800 Better Bridges initiatives: The Better Roads/Brighter
Future initiative will bring 85 percent of Missouri’s busiest highway miles up to good condition by 2011.
The 800 Better Bridges initiative will replace or rehabilitate 800 of MoDOT’s most worn-out bridges, using
a single team to perform the work and maintain the bridges for 25 years. Chris Rutledge with MoDOT
District 9 will provide detailed information on the two programs and how they will benefit the Meramec
Region.
5. Legislative Update: Chris Rutledge with MoDOT District 9 will present an update on transportation
legislation introduced this session, including a sales tax to improve interstates, the primary seatbelt law, a
school bus seatbelt law and any bills.
6. Meramec Regional Transportation Plan: MRPC staff will overview Phase II of the Regional
Transportation Plan and update the committee on information needed from cities and counties.
7. MoDOT Updates and Staff Reports:
Districts 5 and 9 Engineers will update TAC members on local projects. MRPC staff will report.
8. Transportation Issues from TAC Members:
Any TAC member that has a transportation issue or need to be made a part of the official record or wishes to ask a question about a transportation issue not previously discussed, should do so at this time.
