Meramec Community Enhancement Corporation's Homeownership Program


MCEC is currently offering down payment and closing cost assistance for a homes in the City of Cuba to first-time, income-eligible homebuyers who are credit-worthy and can secure financing.

The Bungalow-style house features two bedrooms, one bath, a newer furnace/AC unit, new range and refrigerator, new floor coverings, new paint, new light fixtures and updated electrical and plumbing systems. How the Program Works

Using grant funds from the Missouri Housing Trust Fund, MCEC purchases homes in the Meramec Region and renovates them to federal housing quality standards.

MCEC contracts with the Meramec Regional Planning Commission to offer this program. Homes are renovated to like-new condition and come complete with new appliances. Enthusiastic volunteers and generous businesses donate, time, energy and supplies to upgrade these homes. These local donatiosn help keep renovation costs down.

Homes are sold for appraised value to income-eligible, first-time homebuyers. Buyers must secure financing and MRPC staff can offer guidance on the options. MCEC also provides down payment and closing cost assistance up to $4,000 if needed.
