Homeownership
Opportunities
Owning your own home is part of the American Dream, and homeownership programs operated by Meramec regional Planning Commission can certainly help that dream become a reality. Since the mid-1990s, MRPC and its non-profit counterpart - the Meramec Community Enhancement Corporation - have been buying properties in need of repair, renovating them and selling them to income-eligible, first-time homebuyers. In doing so, MRPC typically assists the homebuyer in arranging financing, assists with the down payment and pays closing costs.
Family Self-Sufficiency This is a program mandated by HUD and involves the coordination of services to assist people in getting off of welfare. MRPC staff provides case management and helps clients set goals and prepare an action plan for achieving those goals.
