Cuba High School awarded Project Grad grant
CUBA—The Central District Coalition for Roadway Safety awarded Cuba High School (CHS) a $400 Project Graduation grant to assist with Project Graduation, a drug and alcohol-free after graduation celebration. Schools that participated in the ‘It Only Takes One’ seatbelt competition were eligible to apply for the Project Graduation grant which included cash, gift cards and educational incentives that remind students to buckle up and drive safely. The Kiwanis Club of Cuba coordinates Project Graduation at CHS. Accepting the incentives on behalf of the 2015-16 senior class included (back row, left) Eryn Kiebofski, Tara Scott, Shannon Ames, Brenda DeRennaux, Tierra Martin, Erica King, Michaela Forester, Katie White and CHS Principal Jon Earnhart; (front row, left) CHS Assistant Principal Geoff Neill, Pegge Martin, Kiwanis Club treasurer, Brittany Bouse, Kasse Fey, Abby Horsefield, Jenna Montgomery, Andrea Kelly, Amity Kaysinger, Marie Cemaitre and Torrie Myers. Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC), a member of the Central District Coalition for Roadway Safety, presented the incentives to students on behalf of the coalition.
