Maries County Bank is MRDC’s 2016 Lender of the Year
Maries County Bank was honored as Meramec Regional Development Corporation’s (MRDC) Lender of the Year, during the Meramec Regional Planning Commission’s (MRPC) Annual Dinner on Oct. 20 at the Belle-Bland Community Center in Belle.
Brandon Licklider of St. James accepted the award on behalf of the bank from MRPC Chairman Ray Schwartze.
Maries County Bank was founded in August 1900 and opened its first bank in Vienna, Mo., on Sept. 1, 1900. The bank has nine other locations in Argyle, Dixon, Belle, St. James, Vichy, Owensville, St. Robert, Richland and Iberia. The bank’s branches in St. Robert, Richland and Iberia became a part of Maries County Bank when it merged with First State Bank on April 1, 2015.
Today, the bank has nearly $450 million in assets. Maries County Bank earned this award because of its partnership with MRDC on two Intermediary Relending Program loan projects in St. James and Owensville and one Revolving Loan Fund loan project in Owensville, which totaled over $430,000 while creating and retaining 86 jobs for the Meramec Region.
MRDC honors a bank that actively partners with it to create jobs and encourage private investment in the region. MRDC is an SBA 504 Certified Development Corporation and serves as the loan review board for MRPC’s five loan programs.
Brandon Licklider of the St. James branch of Maries County Bank accepted the Lender of the Year award on behalf of the bank. Meramec Regional Planning Commission Chairman Ray Schwartze and Darlene Weber, president of MRDC, made the award presentation.
