ST. JAMES—Contractors are needed for home repair work in New Haven as Haven Manor has been awarded a grant for a senior housing renovation project by the Federal Home Loan Bank-Des Moines (FHLB).
Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) is administering the grant. The grant will allow the senior housing board to hire contractors to renovate 36 one-bedroom housing units at the complex, creating safer, healthier homes for residents. Renovations will include installation of new sidewalks, front porch pads, metal roofing, kitchen cabinets, front doors, range hoods and bath vanities. Contractors are needed to make these renovations and are asked to complete a contractor application prior to bidding.
For more information on an application, contact Gary O’Day or Chuck Cantrell at 573-265-2993 or goday@meramecregion.org or ccantrell@meramecregion.org. Applications can also be found online at meramecregion.org.
A walk-through will be scheduled for interested contractors to view work to be done in the near future, prior to submitting bids. The Haven Manor board will review bids and select contractors to perform the work.
The Haven Manor units were built in 1976 using funds from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development.
The Haven Manor board partnered with MRPC on the grant, totaling $303,340. MRPC will serve as administrator and inspector on the project.
Formed in 1969, MRPC is a voluntary council of governments serving Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Osage, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington counties and their respective cities.
