ST. JAMES—Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) and Missouri Emergency Response Commission (MERC) are sponsoring a free Module Emergency Response Radiological Transportation Training (MERRTT) May 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at MRPC, #4 Industrial Drive, St. James MO, 65559.
This eight-hour radiation training program is offered to persons who have completed previous radiological response training. Students will receive a comprehensive review ensuring their understanding of radioactive material, radiological survey instruments and decontamination techniques for handling radiologically contaminated victims. The course includes the use of “live” radiation sources in the practical exercises to reinforce learning.
Pre-registration is required. To register, visit sematraining.com or contact Stephen McLane at Stephen.McLane@dnr.mo.gov. The course must have 15 registered students one week prior to the class start date or it will be cancelled. Cancellation notices will be sent via emails to registered students.
