First State Community Bank (FSCB was honored as Meramec Regional Development Corporation’s (MRDC) Lender of the Year, during the Meramec Regional Planning Commission’s (MRPC) Annual Dinner on Oct. 30 at the Havener Center in Rolla.
Ernie Kost, president of FSCB in Rolla, accepted the award on behalf of the bank from MRPC Chairman T.R. Dudley.
FSCB opened its doors in 1954 in Farmington and in 2014 celebrated 50 years of service. Today, the bank has over $1 billion in assets and over 45 banks in some 33 Missouri cities, going as far north as Moberly and as far south as Kennett and Hayti in the Bootheel.
The lender has earned this award because of its partnership with MRDC on a large SBA loan project in Rolla, totaling over $660,000, and retaining 12 jobs.
MRDC honors a bank that actively partners with it to create jobs and encourage private investment in the region. MRDC is an SBA 504 Certified Development Corporation and serves as the loan review board for MRPC’s five loan programs.
