ST. JAMES—Due to public health concerns, Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) Board of Directors and the MRPC Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) will not meet April 9. The board meets monthly, except for July, on the second Thursday of each month. At this time, the next MRPC board meeting will be Thursday, May 14 and the TAC will reconvene before the June 11 board meeting.

“We have decided to cancel the April 9 meeting as our local governments are transitioning due to COVID 19, just as we are,” said MRPC Executive Director Bonnie Prigge. “Our Executive Committee will be handling the time sensitive business electronically. If we are not able to meeting in May we will consider a virtual meeting, as we do have that capability.”

The offices of MRPC and the Phelps County PHA are closed to the public, however, staff continues to work both in-house and remotely.

Formed in 1969, MRPC is a voluntary council of governments serving Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Osage, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington counties and their respective cities. Gasconade County Presiding Commissioner Larry Miskel serves as chairman of the board. A professional staff of 33 offers technical assistance and services, such as grant preparation and administration, housing assistance, transportation planning, environmental planning, ordinance codification, business loans and other services to member communities.
